Cisco Responds: Telepresence is a "GIANT PHONE"
As we wind up this week's kerfuffle (that started here) about a few vendors and consultants who are shooting themselves in the foot, hurting the conferencing industry, and slapping the face of the ascending video culture by dissing the term "videoconference" we challenged Cisco - who says their telepresence system "isn't videoconferencing" - to come up with terms for end-users for their "telepresence" system and the action, a verb, of meeting by such a system. Today we get close to an answer. from Cisco, with the fake newscaster, and 30 seconds into it you'll learn that the Cisco TelePresence system is ..."a GIANT PHONE!"
