Way Back
Searching the Way Back Machine and viewing corporate websites from the mid to late 90s is sorta like looking at family photographs from the 1970s to see who wore the biggest bell bottoms. A cursory search suggests that Genesys Conferencing, with that European flair, maintained its space-age grooviness well into 2000 as evidenced by the picture above of its homepage back then. (Click here for larger picture.)
We sorta miss those halycon daze days of our web youth, before the conferencing industry sold its products in part as a response to terrorism. Web pages in the 90s were like cartoons, an apt metaphor as we were all children on the web back then. Now, responding to the world, we see toughguy images like WebEx's homepage (see entry below) or stern (and cheesy) stock photo images on other corporate sites of go-getter professionals with oh-so-serious demeanors.
We lament the loss of our Jetsonian dreams.
